This scene belongs to the side quest from MM in which Link finds the injured Koume in the woods, and has to bring potion to her. This time, instead of finding Kotake in the shop, Link meets Ganny, and after learning about the incident the stepson hurried to the woods to heal his mommy. He is not in a very good mood though.
